What's Your Love Speak?

You talk to your sweetie everyday – about politics, life, the weather – but do you speak their language of love?

According to Dr. Gary Chapman, author and marriage counselor for more than 30 years, there are five love languages: Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Receiving Gifts, Acts of Service and Physical Touch.

In his book “The Five Love Languages: How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your Mate” Chapman explains the languages of love in a friendly and humorous style, illustrating each “language” with real-life anecdotes from his counseling practice.

The book includes short questionnaires for you and your spouse to discover what really fills up your love tank. According to Chapman, “love is a choice and either partner can start the process today.”

Would You Invest $1 in Relationship Insurance?

In today’s fast-paced world, who has time to cultivate a budding relationship or fan the flames of an existing one? The folks at Apple understand how busy you are, so they’ve added an iPhone app designed develop your romantic side for you.

It’s called Girlfriend Keeper. It requires some basic information about your lucky lady such as email address, phone number, birthday and the not-so-basics like your anniversary and her eye color. You can adjust your relationship level from “strangers” to “married” and how frequently you’d like to contact her from “once-per-month” to “every-other-hour.” Then you do nothing. Based on your specifications, the app will regularly email and text your beloved with your name as the signature. It even has a history feature allowing you to view the sent messages so you’re never caught off-guard if they’re brought up in casual conversation.

Feeling left-out ladies? Don’t worry – they’re working on an equivalent app called Boyfriend Keeper.

Girlfriend Keeper is available on the iPhone App Store for $1. For more information, visit the Girlfriend Keeper Web site.

Holiday Tips for Interfaith Couples

Rosh Hashanah, or “the Jewish New year,” officially begins at sundown. While the holiday represents new beginnings, old challenges arise for interfaith couples and their efforts to follow and respect one another’s religious practice. Whether your romance has just blossomed or you’re celebrating your golden anniversary – here are some tips to help you and your honey handle the holidays:

  • Ask your significant other how they celebrate; discuss customs like food and gift-giving.

  • Share your traditions with each other; try planning religious activities together.

  • Embrace your faith’s similarities; love, respect and monogamy are ideals shared by many religions and cultures.

  • Respect each other’s feelings; if you can’t find a middle ground it’s fine to celebrate separately.

Pocono Resorts featured on USA TODAY.com

Caesars Poconos Resorts was featured on USATODAY.com in an article published by Detroit Free Press' travel writer Ellen Creagar!

Creagar credits us for our romantic atmosphere that resembles a summer camp for grownups. Best of all, Creager reminds readers the best and most romantic part of our properties, "In (the) suite(s), all the lights are low. It's too dim to read. This place is not wired for Internet. Your cellphone probably won't work. The TV is small. Really, there is absolutely nothing to do except take off your clothes."
