The (Non-traditional) Romance of a Playboy
According to Wilkinson, it is the time spent apart that helps them all stay together.
“We are three very different people — we’re doing very different things with our lives and we don’t step on each other’s toes. If we all wanted the same thing it wouldn’t have worked, because that’s where all the drama would have started. We are on different roads and they don’t intersect. We don’t spend time together every day — girls just can’t do that."
And it seems to work for them just fine. I guess for all types of romance, the idea of "give and take" (and personal space!) is a common theme!

Love & Lust Across The Lands
Who hasn’t daydreamed about a romantic tryst on a vacation abroad? A fun article from Australian MSN compiled various stats about sex and relationships in different countries, which may just help you single girls decide where to go (and where to skip) on your next trip overseas. Here are just a few interesting results by country:
- Portugal: Men here are the least shallow, with almost half saying that intelligence is a major turn-on.
- Italy: If you go home with a guy here, don’t be surprised if his mom offers you breakfast in the morning. Over 23% of 30 to 35 year olds still live at home.
- Turkey: Ranking as the most promiscuous, residents have an average of 14.5 partners. Australia finishes a close second with 13.3 partners on average.
- Venezuela: Here may lie the most competition, being home to 5 Miss World winners- more than any other country.
- Norway: Pack your own protection, Norway has the highest number of people having unprotected sex at 73 percent. Next in line are the Greeks with 70 percent of people skipping condoms.
- China: People here are the least satisfied with their sex lives- 78 percent!
- Belgium: Home to the highest percentage who’ve tried tantric sex (15 percent)! Perhaps, not surprisingly, 57 percent are happy with their sex lives.
So, will these findings sway your destination decision for your next getaway? Let us know!

Check Us Out on The View!!
Olympic (And Wedding) Rings
For two athletes in particular, the Czech Republic's Katy Emmons and Team USA's Matt Emmons, the term "support" runs a little deeper than patriotism.
Matt and Katy are husband and wife and both world champion shooters.
The pair met four years ago at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. A successful competition for both athletes, Katy won a bronze medal, Matt won gold and they both walked away with a lifelong partner.
"I think it’s wonderful having my teammate, my wife, with me every day, and that’s perfect," Matt said in a Today Show interview. After all, who better to support you on the world's stage than your spouse?
Beijing is their first Olympic games competing as husband and wife and so far, things are looking good for the married team--Katy recently won a gold in the 10-meter air rifle event, the very first gold of this summer's games.
Check out this article and accompanying video from The Today Show for more of Matt and Katy's romantic story.

A Big Thanks to The View!
On Friday's episode of The View, Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd talked about our "Happy Honeymoon?" poll! How exciting! You can check out the clip here.
Just a reminder, the poll found that one in five newlywed couples don't actually consummate their marriage on their wedding night. A few other tidbits...
To Consummate or Not to Consummate
While we learned that most couples do “seal the deal” on their wedding night, we discovered that almost a fifth of newlyweds don’t. Why? Blame the open bar, lack of sleep and er, “natural” concerns...
- 16 percent of individuals polled said that they did not consummate their marriage on their wedding night
- The reasons why they didn’t?
-32 percent said that they or their partner were too tired
-14 percent said that they or their partner had too much to drink
(Women chose this answer twice as often as men did!)
-11 percent said that family and friends were still around
(Men chose this answer more than five times more often than woman.)
-10 percent said that it wasn’t important to them. - The good, the bad and the ugly: The list of free-response answers why couples didn’t consummate the marriage on their wedding night was topped by “that time of the month”.
-Our respondents also mentioned:
He was playing blackjack all night. (Who does that?)
Too much sake and sushi consumed. (Yum, but yikes)
It was consummated MANY TIMES before (notice the caps!) - Despite 84 percent saying that they did “kick off” their honeymoon in the sack, only a measly 27 percent said there were days when they never left their room (wink, wink).
Something Old, Something New...
We also learned that despite recent changes in weddings and honeymoons, ultimately couples’ feelings toward tradition have not changed. - 67 percent of people wouldn’t bypass the wedding reception to head right to the honeymoon.
-Both men and woman answered equally. - An overwhelming number (70 percent) of brides and grooms still pay for the honeymoon themselves, despite the recent changes in traditional honeymoon financial roles (honeymoon registries, parental gifts, etc.).
-But, we learned that the honeymoons of more newly married couples have been affected by recent economic issues with nearly half (more than 44 percent) answering that “financial constraints” kept them from doing everything they wanted to on their honeymoon.
The Time of My Life
Despite some minor financial concerns, most couples were completely satisfied with their honeymoons. - More than 90 percent said that their honeymoons met their expectations.
-Men answered “yes” 10 percent more often than women. - But, despite being so satisfied, 55 percent said that they don’t plan to take a second honeymoon.
Men are From Mars and Women are From, Well, Mars
Surprisingly men and woman seem to be more aligned in their answers than originally thought. The only disconnect? Satisfaction—how pleased woman actually were with the honeymoon and pleased their partners thought they were. - Almost 10 percent more men than women said that their honeymoon met their expectations.
- 10 percent more women than men said that they had to “massage the truth” to convince their partner they had a good time.
- Women were twice as likely as men to experience a bit of “buyer’s remorse” after choosing their honeymoon destination.
A special thanks to the ladies of ABC's The View for including us in their Hot Topics conversation!
